Be Ye Holy
Wherefore gird up
the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace
that is to be
unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
As obedient
children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former
lusts in your ignorance:
But as he
which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of
conversation.
Because it is
written, Be ye holy, for I am holy. (1 Pet. 1:13-16)
According as he hath
chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should
be holy and without blame before him in love. (Eph 1:4)
What shall we say
then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin live any longer therein? (Rom
6:1,2)
For he that is dead
is freed from sin.
Likewise reckon ye
also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,
but alive unto God
through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom 6:7,11)
Abstain from all
appearance of evil. (1 Thess 5:22)
For God hath not
called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. (1 Thess 4:7)
And they that are
Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (Gal
5:25)
Lay hands suddenly
on no man, neither be partakers of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.
(1 Tim 5:22)
In all things
shewing thyself a pattern of good works:
in doctrine
shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech that cannot be
condemned;
that he that is
of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
(Titus 2:7,8)
For the grace of God
that bringeth salvation hath appeared unto all men,
Teaching us that,
denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. (Titus
2:11,12)
That ye put off
concerning the former conversation the old man,
which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in
the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on
the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness. (Eph 4:22-24)
For the righteous
Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
(Ps. 11:7)
Avoiding this, that
no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:
Providing for honest
things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of
men. (2 Cor 8:20,21)
That ye would
walk worthy of God, who hath called you into his kingdom and glory.
(1 Thess 2:12)
To the end he may
stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God,
even our Father, at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. (1 Thess 3:13)
Holding faith, and a
good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith
have made shipwreck. (1 Tim 1:19)
For if we sin
willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain
fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall
devour the adversaries. (Heb. 10:26,27)
Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to
the use of edifying,
that it may minister
grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption. (Eph 4:29,30)
Now the end of the
commandment is charity out of a pure heart,
and of a good
conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (1 Tim 1:5)
Wherefore seeing we
also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with
patience the race that is set before us, (Heb 12:1)
Be ye therefore
perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matt
5:48)
But seek ye first
the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things
shall be added unto you. (Matt 6:33)
Whosoever is born
of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he
cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 Jn 3:9)
And grieve not
the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption. (Eph 4:30)
For ye were
sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as
children of light:
(For the fruit of
the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving
what is acceptable unto the Lord. (Eph. 5:8-10)
Know ye not that
ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in
you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for
the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Cor
3:16,17)
And ye shall be
holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from
other people, that ye should be mine. (Leviticus 20:26)
What shall we say
then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
(Rom 9:14)
Whosoever therefore
shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he
shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall
do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of
heaven. (Matt. 5:19)
Stand in awe, and sin
not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.
Selah. (Ps. 4:4)
Be not wise in thine
own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Prov 3:7)
For the kingdom of
God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and
joy in the Holy Ghost. (Rom 14:17)
And grieve not the
holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
(Eph 4:30)
For ye were
sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children
of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and
righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
(Eph. 5:8-10)
Know ye not that ye
are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for
the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Cor 3:16,17)
And ye shall be holy
unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other
people, that ye should be mine. (Leviticus 20:26)
My little children,
these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we
have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (1 Jn 2:1)
Forasmuch then as
Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with
the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased
from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of
his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to
the will of God. (1 Pet 4:1,2)
By the word of
truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right
hand and on the left, (2 Cor 6:7)
