Almost Persuaded
Will You accept Christ Today, or Wait for a More Convenient Day that May Never Come

DANGER!!

What does the word "Danger" mean to you?   It may mean risk of death, risk of bodily injury, potential loss of life or property.   In other words, when you see the word DANGER, you make sure to acknowledge the risk so that you may avoid it.

Some, however, ignore the DANGER signs, at great peril to themselves.   Some ignore doctor's orders, some ignore road signs, some ignore tornado warnings.   Sometimes they pay the consequences; sometimes they do not.   Some get used to ignoring DANGER signs because they never face the consequences.

But there is one danger sign that you just cannot ignore.   The result of ignoring this sign is unavoidable.

DANGER!!   If you die without accepting Jesus Christ, you WILL suffer in Hell FOREVER!

This is not some danger that we will face in some far-off future many years from now.   It is an impending danger; you may die at any time.   There is NO guarantee that you will even live to see tomorrow.   "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" James 4:14

And if you have ignored the DANGER signs, you WILL face the consequences.

"Consequences for ignoring the signs?"   Well, not exactly.   You will face the penalty FOR YOUR SINS; the DANGER signs only warn you of the consequences and tell you how to avoid them.

"DANGER!!!   For the WAGES of SIN is DEATH; but the
gift of God is eternal life throught Jesus Christ our Lord"   Rom 6:23

Acts 26
27   King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28   Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Unfortunatly for King Agrippa, "almost" was not enought.

Acts 24
24   And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
25   And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
The Roman governor Felix saw the DANGER sign. He realized the danger but he didn't take action immediantly.   He wanted to wait for a more convenient season.   That "convenient season" never came!!!   Friend, if you are waiting to get saved until you have enought money, or when you get the "right" job, or after you retire, or when you are lying on your death bed, forget about it. You'll never have enought money, you will never be satisfied with your carrear, you will never be satisfied with your family, YOUR CONVENIENT SEASON WILL NEVER COME.   The devil will KEEP giving you reasons to put off accepting Jesus as your Saviour.

And what if you were to die tomorrow in a car reck?   What if your house catches fire while you sleep?   What if you drop dead with a heart attack next Saturday afternoon?   You would be dead,
without knowing forgiveness for your sins.   Since you did not accept Christ as your Saviour from your sins, you will have to suffer the full punishment for them in Hell.   Your convenient season never came!

There is nothing, nothing more important than being sure that you will go to Heaven when you die.   If you are not 100% sure that you will make it, pray to God, repenting of your sins and asking Him to save you in Christ's name TODAY!!   Make TODAY your convenient season.   Do not ignore the DANGER signs. NOW is the day of salvation.   NOW is the convenient time. You cannot get saved after you die!

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee:
behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;
Hebrews 2:3

DANGER!!!   This may be your last opportunity to get saved.
You may die tomorrow.   Therefore, make today your convenient day!

ALMOST PERSUADED
Philip B. Bliss

"Almost persuaded" now to believe;
"Almost persuaded" Christ to recieve;
Seems now some soul to say,
"Go, Spirit, go Thy way,
Some more convenient day
On Thee I'll call."

"Almost persuaded," come, come today;
"Almost persuaded," turn not away;
Jesus invites you here,
Angels are lingering nere,
Prayers rise from hearts so dear,
O wanderer, come.

"Almost persuaded," harvest is past!
"Almost persuaded," doom comes at last!
"Almost" cannot avail;
"Almost" is but to fail!
Sad, sad, that bitter wail,
"Almost" - but lost.
