Is Mary . . .
The numbers in parentheses are paragraph references in the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church, so non-Catholics can know that I did not make these dogmas up, the Catholic Church really teaches them. If you doubt any of this is true, go to http://www.christusrex.org/www2/kerygma/ccc/searchcat.html (online Catechism) and type the number(s) into the “paragraph” text box.
Your Mediatrix (mediator)? (725, 969) For there is one God, and ONE MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5 14 How much
more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to
serve the living God? Hebrews 9:14-15 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus Christ is the ONLY mediator between God and man. There are no other mediators between God and us, not Mary, not saints, no one besides Jesus is between us and God. |
your Co-redemptrix (co-redeemer)? (click here for numerous quotes from Catholic sources) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under [besides Jesus Christ] heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had BY HIMSELF purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Hebrews 1:3 Jesus is the ONLY redeemer of mankind. He by Himself purged our sins, no one helped Him do it, He did it alone. Trust Him alone for your salvation. |
your advocate? (969) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1 Jesus Christ is your advocate, not Mary. |
Sinless? (411, 493, 508) Every one has sinned, Jesus Christ is the ONLY person in history who did not sin: For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 Mary herself admitted that she needed a saviour; why would she need a saviour if she was indeed sinless? 46 And Mary
said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, Since Mary was a sinner, she could have no part in God’s redemptive work, because God demands perfect sacrifices. |
the Queen of Heaven? (click here for thousands of Catholic sources that call Mary the “Queen of Heaven.”) The Israelites enraged God by worshipping the “Queen of Heaven.” The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the
QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that
they may provoke me to anger. Jeremiah 7:18 The Israelites reject the Word of God spoken through Jeremiah to keep their own tradition of worshipping the Queen of Heaven: 16 As for the
word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not
hearken unto thee. Jeremiah 44:16, 17 |
Mother of God? (493, 963) God is from everlasting, he has no origin, He has been in existence for ever, He has no ‘mother’? Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. Psalms 93:2 Mary was just the mother of the earthly ‘Jesus.’ She was the mother of His earthly body; Christ, the Son of God, has been around forever. See this messianic prophecy of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem: But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Micah 5:2 Jesus Christ created the universe. Mary was just part of the creation. Christ was before all things, including Mary. 16 For by him
[Jesus Christ, see vs. 13-15] were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be
thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him, and for him: Colossians 1:16, 17 |
a perpetual virgin? (469, 499) And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. Matthew 1:25 Mary and Joseph didn’t have intercourse UNTIL Jesus was born. He wasn’t Mary’s ONLY son, He was her FIRSTBORN son. Think about this, if Mary would have deined Joseph his maritual rights, wouldn’t he have been infuriated? Read the following scriptures on husbands and wives: 4 The wife
hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also
the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. I Cor 7:4, 5 Now do you really think that a holy Mary would violate God’s Word? The Bible indeed states that Mary and Joseph had at least six children after Jesus, thus Mary could not have remained a virgin: Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. Mark 6:3 (Note, the word is correctly translated ‘brother’ and should not be ‘cousin’ as the Catholic religion claims. Even the modern Bible versions (NIV, NASB, NKJV, NLT) ,render this word ‘brother.’) 19 Then came to
him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for
the press. Luke 8:19-21 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days. John 2:12 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Acts 1:14 |
Prayerfully consider these verses, and ask God, through Jesus (for He is your only Mediator),
whether He wants you to continue in such a doctrine that directly opposes His word.
See my article on traditions to read what the Scriptures say about
man-made traditions that contradict the Word of God.
27 And it came to pass, as he [Jesus] spake these things, a certain woman
of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him,
Blessed
is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed
are they
that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Luke 11:27, 28
